PROTECTED SPECIES MITIGATION
The Badger Consultancy carries out a range of mitigation and licensable work on protected species. We have acted as an Ecological Clerk of Works on road, rail, and housing schemes, quarries and pipelines.
 Monitoring bats during construction and demolition. Installation of bat boxes, grills and access points for bats.
Monitoring of otter holts during engineering and construction work. Construction of artificial holts.
Trapping, exclusion, displacement of water voles and destruction of burrows.
Installation and monitoring of dormice tubes and boxes.
Translocation of great crested newts using pit falls, refuges and bottle trapping. Destructive searches of ponds.
Capture and translocation of reptiles and amphibians using refuges. Construction of hibernacula.
Protection of nesting birds during construction.
